Little Man Baby Shower Game Ideas

Last updated on February 15th, 2021

Both of my kids were surprises. Mr. Mountaineer and I decided not to find out the gender of either of them. It seemed more fun to us that way. So, I spent nine months of the last year convinced that I was having another girl. Why a girl? Because I couldn't possibly have a boy!

Having been an only child and attending an all girls school for most of my life, boys were for other people.  I knew nothing about raising one and planned on keeping it that way.

So you can imagine my shock that late May day when Mr. Mountaineer announced it's a boy!  My heart melted as I held this sweet little baby boy for the first time.  In the middle of all of the joy, all I could think was "Now what?".

Fast forward three months and I couldn't imagine life without Baby M.  Life with a little boy has been amazing and I'm finding myself loving designing a boy themed nursery and looking forward to playing with trains, airplanes, trucks and whatever other fun things he'll come up with. (Surprisingly, just as much as I've loved playing with dolls and dollhouses.)

So in honor of Baby M, I wanted to throw a boy themed sip and see to celebrate his arrival.  I chose the most boy centric theme I could think of – Little Man – and ran with it – mustaches, bow ties and all.  Here are some little man baby shower ideas to give you ideas for your next boy themed baby shower.

Little Man Party Ideas

For the dessert table centerpiece, I used my three tier cupcake stand and covered it in chocolate and white icing cupcakes.  For cupcake toppers, I made milk chocolate mustache lollipops.  I used extra chocolate mustaches (without the stick) to decorate the cake at the top.

mustachespoons

Mustache stamped spoons from our shop were the perfect addition to the utensils.  I also added stamped forks for extra pizzazz!

chocolatechipcookies

Treats included a variety of cookies, including homemade chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin.  We also had black tie chocolate truffles and mustache brownies.

diycigarbarchocolate

I set up a make your own chocolate pretzel bar called a DIY Cigar Bar.  I melted chocolates and had a variety of toppings for guests to create their own salty/sweet creations.

berrystache

With all of the sweets adorning the dessert table, it was important to add a fruit option.  Since berries are in season right now, I filled clear plastic cups with a mix of strawberries, blueberries and raspberries.  These "berry staches" were quite popular with kids and adults alike!

My little man party was inspired by a shirt Mr. Mountaineer wore when we were dating.  It was a Ralph Lauren blue gingham button up.  Something about that shirt reminded me of Baby M and I decided to use a light blue gingham pattern as a backdrop for the invitation and bunting.

mustachefavorbags

I packaged favor bags using our mustache favor bag kit from the shop.  I filled each kraft bag with different flavors of chocolate mustaches – milk, dark and white.  I tied each bag with black baker's twine and attached our handmade gift tag.  It was a nice way to say thank you for coming!

photocupcaketoppers

For the kids, I used our custom photo cupcake toppers and adorned blue and white swirled lollipops with them.  The front featured a recent picture of Baby M.  The back had the stats from his birth.  It was such a lovely way to celebrate his arrival.  These would also make a great little welcome baby treat.

As I planned this party, I knew I wanted to add a special decoration to the brick fireplace in the living room.  I created this adorable baby onesie clotheline.  I used a box tie pattern and fun fabrics to make a sweet decoration that Baby M can use after the party too.  I can't wait to see him in the Little Man onesie.  I'll be sharing an easy how to on making this onesie clothesline soon.

In celebration of our little man, guests filled out baby wish cards.  I plan to assemble these as part of his baby book.  I still look at the wish cards from Little Bug's first birthday party.  I can't wait to share the well wishes of family and friends with our little ones once they get older.

As with all of the parties, play dates and family gatherings that I throw for our family and friends, a lot of heart went into this event.  It was wonderful to have a chance to introduce Baby M to everyone.  It gave me a chance to celebrate having a little boy and all of the wonderful things come with it.

Happy Celebrating,
Natalie
